What is False Creek Flats?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The False Creek Flats is a long-term vision of revitalizing the area east of Olympic Village and north of Mount Pleasant. This area is bounded by Main St. to the west, Prior St. to the north and Great Northern Way to the south. This prime location next to False Creek offers 450 acres of space to grow and is less than 1km from downtown. It is currently a major job centre in Vancouver with over 600 diverse businesses in the area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bringing Life to The Area Through Tons of Job Growth and New Developments<\/span><\/h3>\n

This once-industrial zone is now gradually being rezoned to commercial and residential to allow for many new businesses and public spaces to be built in the area. The goal is to grow this area by better integrating the land into the surrounding city. Also, they aim to create more public spaces to grow the community and increase the housing options available. The longterm vision is to create and promote at least 30,000 jobs in the area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The addition of the $2 billion, St. Paul\u2019s Hospital construction is the main attraction generating this growth in the area. This hospital will provide countless jobs and resources for the community as a welcome upgrade from the state of its current campus. It will also create lots of potential for more businesses to start popping up around the area. On top of this, biotech powerhouse <\/span>AbCellera<\/span><\/a> is building a large campus near the Olympic Village area, providing similar benefits of jobs and growth opportunities. The Flats area is expected to become a hot zone for health and tech related ventures because of these new projects.
